Akkineni Nageswara Rao is popularly known as ANR was an Indian film actor and producer who was predominantly known for his work in telugu film industry. Akinneni is one of the rare actors who had acted over 255 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages and is one of the most known actor in the history of Telugu cinema. Akkineni Nageswara Rao built a film studio Annapurna Studios in the year 1975. Akkineni Nageswara Rao received 4 state Nandi Awards and 5 filmfare Awards South. Akkineni is the recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award the highest honorary award for achievement in Indian cinema. Nageswara Rao was also honored with Padma Vibhushan which is India's second highest civilian award. Akkineni started his acting career at the age of 17 with debut telugu movie Dharmapatni. Some of ANR telugu movies are Maya Bazaar, Chenchu Lakshmi, Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham, Balaraju, Rojulu Maraayi, Namminabantu, Missamma, Chakrapani, Preminchi Choodu, Laila Majnu, Anarkali, Batasari, Devadasu, Prem Nagar, Premabhishekam, Meghasandesham and many more. Manam was Akkineni Nageswara Rao's last telugu movie which also included his son Nagarjuna and grandsons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil.
